About Advanced Radiation Centers of New York

Our History

The history of Advanced Radiation Centers is strongly rooted in the New York Metropolitan area. Over three decades ago, Dr. Ezriel Diamond opened his practice in Plainview, New York, in Central Long Island. At the time, it was the first freestanding Radiation Oncology facility in eastern Nassau County.

Eventually, Dr. Diamond was joined by Dr. Shawn H. Zimberg, also a Radiation Oncologist, and together they grew their practice into what is now Advanced Radiation Centers of New York (ARC), with offices in Lake Success, Plainview, and Hauppauge on Long Island, Hartsdale in Westchester County, West Nyack in Rockland County and Bronx County in the Bronx.

ARC is a leader in Radiation Oncology technology in the Metropolitan New York region and is amongst the largest freestanding Radiation Oncology practices in the country.

At ARC, our physicians’ expertise, experience, and training are unmatched. They have trained and developed their expertise at many of the most prestigious training centers in the world, including Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, The Johns’ Hopkins Hospital, Cornell Medical Center and The Cleveland Clinic – and along with the ARC staff   share a pride in being technology leaders and experienced authorities in the latest radiation techniques – many of which have been published in peer reviewed journals and national meetings.

Our Commitment to the Communities We Serve

The staff of Advanced Radiation Centers of New York maintain a strong commitment to our community. Our physicians regularly lecture on various cancer-related topics, presenting to patients and support groups, advocacy organizations and physicians’ groups. ARC physicians have served on the Board of Directors and Board of Advisors of many cancer organizations, including the prestigious American Cancer Society. Understanding that the field of radiation oncology is ever-changing, our doctors attend weekly collaborative cancer conferences where they share best-practices and discuss difficult cases. Realizing the importance of philanthropy, our staff members regularly volunteer their time and energy to fight cancer and raise awareness by participating in events and walks held by organizations such as: the Integrated Medical Foundation, American Cancer Society, Lean-On-Me Breast Cancer Network and The Sass Foundation for Medical Research.
